A Very British Simpsons Clip Is A Great Tribute To David Bowie And Alan Rickman

With the loss of both David Bowie and Alan Rickman, it’s been a sad week for legendary British pop culture.

The animators over at The Simpsons tweeted a tribute containing one ofmost British clip the cartoon has ever seen. It’s almost like they’ve managed to mix the taste of crumpets, the smell of the Queen’s corgis and the sound of Big Ben into one small animation that pays homage – with the help of Benedict Cumberbatch.

The scene begins with Homer and his pals watching “Love Indubitably” in an attempt to understand their wives better – you can see where this is going…

A dashing Prime Minister (Benedict Cumberbatch not David Cameron) is trying to win over his secretary, Eliza Commonbottom, while Bowie’s ‘All The Young Dudes’ plays in the background. Then Severus Snape – in a perfectly ripped off impression of Alan’s famously dour voice – randomly interrupts saying: “Love is more powerful than all my magic.”

We would be way more inspired to watch Prime Minister’s questions if they actually went down like this. Check out the clip here:

Edit: It has come to our attention that this isn’t a new tribute, and is from an episode made three years ago. Still lovely to see though
