Manvendra Singh Gohil is a royal prince in the state of Rajpipla.
Prince Manvendra was tired of living a double life, pretending to be straight as the pressures of marriage continued after his first marriage failed.
He came out as gay in 2006, sparking outrage in the streets of India, and wasdisowned by his family.
Since then, he’s made an appearance on Oprah and spoken about how difficult it is to be gay in a place like India, where there are very few gay icons in India’s pop culture.
Recently, he collaborated on a video project with ComeOut Loudand delivered a powerful, to-the-point message about being proud of who you are, no matter your sexual orientation.
Prince Manvendra is speaking out and for the LGBT community, and sending a message of love to everyone that has to go through what he has to overcome adversity.
