One woman has been killed and another two people injuredafter being attacked by a man with a macheteinReutlingen, near Stuttgart, Germany.
It is believed that the attack began at around 16:30 local time, near a kebab shop, and ended when a passing BMW managed to run the assailant over.
Police have sincearrestedthe attacker, and are reassuring public that he seems to have been acting alone, and thatthere is no ongoing danger.
They have identified him as a 21-year-old Syrian refugee, who was previously known to authorities.
The victims have not yet been identified.
This horrific attack comes just days after a shooting killed nine in Munich, and only a couple of weeks since five train passengers were wounded in an axe attack.
In both those cases, the perpetrators were teenagers.
