Report: Trump Golf Resort in Scotland Destroyed Special Nature Site

One of President Trumps Scottish golf resorts has partially destroyed the special nature site on which it was built, Scottish wildlife authorities said. The Trump International Golf Links resort was built on land recognized as a site of special scientific interest in Aberdeen, and Trump won approval for the project a decade ago because he promised to create up to 6,000 jobs by building a five-star hotel with shops, a sports complex, two golf courses and housing estates. But now, with only one 18-hole course, a practice range, a restaurant and a small 16-room hotel built on the land, inspectors say the sites protected status may be removed because of the considerable damage done to the land, according to The Observer. Scottish Natural Heritage, the agency responsible for preserving the countrys natural sites, has issued a report saying the sites ecosystem has been ruined and its famous dunes mostly destroyed. Most of its important geomorphological features have been lost or reduced to fragments. Nearby marine terraces have also been reduced to fragments, inspectors said.
